“We live our lives like Jesus”
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Jack, who had a friendly cow named Daisy. He loved the cow so much. However, the family was so poor that they had to sell Daisy to the market. He took Daisy down the road to the market, however on the way there he noticed an old man. The old man said “I like the look of that cow! Is she for sale?”
“Yes,” said Jack.
“I will give you five magic beans for her,” said the man.
Jack loved magic so he accepted the man’s offer. He took the beans from the man. Skipping all the way home, Jack showed the beans to his mother.
“You silly boy!” his mother scolded him. “What have you done? Now we will not be able to eat.”
“Go to bed without any supper you silly boy!” She then threw the beans out of the window.
The next day Jack woke up and went to his window. He stood in amazement at the giant beanstalk that had appeared outside of his window!
He ran outside and climbed the enormous beanstalk. It went on, and on, and on, way above the clouds! He climbed higher and higher as his Mum waved him goodbye.
Jack saw a massive palace at the top of the beanstalk and he knocked on the door, suddenly the door was opened by a giants wife, who said “You shouldn’t be here! My husband will boil you for his dinner!
She quickly hid Jack in a cupboard. No sooner had she done this Jack heard an almighty “FiFoFum, I smell the blood of an English man, be he alive or be he dead Ill eat him for my lunch!”
Jack quivered with fear. He heard the giant crunching through bones as he ate his dinner. He then heard him asking a goose to lay him an egg. Jack peeked out and saw the most amazing sight, the giants’ wife had brought him a goose which laid a solid golden egg!
Eventually the giant fell asleep, Jack took this opportunity to sneak out of his hiding place. As he did so he grabbed the goose and ran as fast as his legs would carry him. He got to the door just as the giant woke up.
“What are you doing?” the giant bellowed
There was no time to lose Jack ran for his life as fast as he could. The giant was not far behind him. Jack made it to the beanstalk and climbed as quickly as he could. As he got to the bottom he shouted to his mum “I need an axe and fast!”
His mother returned with an axe and Jack began cutting the beanstalk, the giant was fast approaching. Just in time the beanstalk fell to the ground sending the giant into a heap on the floor. Jack and his mother were safe.
Jack explained about the golden egg laying goose and they were never poor again.
