“We live our lives like Jesus”
World Book Day is an annual celebration that brings together book lovers of all ages to celebrate the power of storytelling and the magic of literature. It's a day dedicated to promoting reading, literacy, and the joy of books in communities around the globe. World Book Day serves as a reminder of the importance of literacy and the profound impact that books can have on individuals. At Corpus Christi we had a fantastic day based around the story of the Three Little Pigs - the children were given a performance by staff in the morning and then spent the day rotating around activities based on the story; puppets, story plates, salt dough and construction were just some of the fun things they were able to do across the day.
We all had an amazing day sharing our love of books with each other and exploring the story of the Three Little Pigs, then the children all got to take a book home with them - what an amazing day!
The children took part in a range of ‘alternative’ sports, including archery, fencing, ultimate Frisbee and Boccia. They had to work as a team and show passion, determination and resilience. Well done year 2 |

Portsmouth School Music Service have been leading Ukulele lessons in year 2 this year and have also led an after school club for children from year 2 upwards.
Their first concert of the year was a great success - children were able to share their progress so far, their knowledge of chords known so far, and also continued to build their performance skills.
Thank you to the families who came in to school to share this wonderful performance.
Aspirations Week - 22nd -26th January
We are looking for parents, relatives and/or STEM Ambassadors to share their work, careers and interests with our Yr5 and 6 pupils.
This could be a question and answer session, talk about your career or a chance to show the children what you do - either in school or virtually.
We welcome all parents or relatives but are particularly interested in hearing from parents with a STEM background.
If you are able to help, please contact Mrs Comerford

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas break.
It has been lovely to see the children this week.
A select group of Year 5s attended the Hampshire Cricket Board's event at the Mountbatten Centre to take part in a mini-tournament
Wow, what a week we’ve had! We’ve celebrated our feast day with a joyful celebration of Mass and a day full of colour with the wonderful display of national dress. The children looked amazing and it was great to see them wearing clothes that reflected their cultural background with such pride. Some of our parents shared a story from their culture, food and information about their country. Today, children have worked in teams from across the school on a variety of activities that show how we work as the body of Christ. Some have gardened, cooked and served visitors lunch, made a flower carpet, contacted other Corpus Christi schools across the world and we’ve all created a wonderful painting for the front entrance.
